Origins of the Gods: Qesem Cave, Skinwalkers and Contact with Transdimensional Intelligences
A Question and Answer Session with Andrew Collins
Abstract: The common belief among the general public, the military and many governments is that UFOs/UAPs are interstellar vehicles arriving here from other star systems. Is there evidence, however, that some mysterious objects appearing in our skies harbor sentient plasma-based intelligences? Can UFOs/UAPs connect with human consciousness through processes related to quantum entanglement? It is possible that some UFOs/UAPs act as gateways or portals to higher dimensional realms co-existing with our own? A form of string theory called M-theory predicts the existence of a multidimensional realm known as the bulk, which might well be the key to understanding the true origin of these higher dimensional intelligences. Lastly, did contact with transdimensional intelligences begin at places like Israel’s Qesem Cave where shamanism began as much as 400,000 years ago? Answers to these questions and more are provided by Andrew Collins drawing on his findings discussed in his book.
(2022), co-authored with Gregory L. Little.Key words: UFOs, UAPs, shamanism, altered states of consciousness, M-theory, branes, the bulk, transdimensional intelligences, n-dimensional beings, the Qesem Cave,Skinwalker Ranch.1. Tell us about the origins of shamanism. The origins of shamanism go back nearly 400,000 years with the oldest evidence coming in the form of a modified swan wing bone found in Israel’s Qesem Cave. Being the wing bone of the bird it has almost been particularly prized by shamans as a means of ensuring shamanic flight during induced trance states. Tel Aviv University’s Ran Barkai, one of the leading archaeologists working at the Qesem Cave, is convinced that the primary purpose of using the swan wing bone was communication with otherworldly realms and the beings seen to inhabit them.
These, he suggests, would have taken the form of the perceived ancestors of the community, as well as the spirits of animals killed during the hunt. The swan is universally recognized among shamanic cultures, particularly those in central and northern Asia, as an avatar for shamans wishing to reach the land of the dead.
How was human progress affected by contact with ultra terrestrial and possibly even multidimensional intelligences? At the same time the Qesem people were engaging in the earliest known form of shmanism they were also on the way to becoming the smartest people on the planet, displaying all sorts of technological firsts for humankind. These include the earliest“canned food,” a unique means of preserving the precious and highly nutritious marrow inside deer leg bones; the earliest “freezers,” a novel method of utilizing fire ash to store fresh food and animal hides for extended periods of time; the earliest known mass production of precision-made blade tools; the first sustained use of fire within a permanent hearth; the earliest use of fire to temper and soften stone materials, and even a“school of rock” where pupils would be taught the art of stone knapping and toolmanufacture. It cannot be coincidence that as all this was occurring the Qesem people—who from their teeth would appear to be direct ancestors of anatomical modern humans—were writing the book on contact with otherworldly intelligences.
Was this knowledge coming from otherworldly intelligences? If this might be considered, then the question then becomes who were these intelligences? Were they real or just part of the imaginations of these proto modern humans who lived between 400,000 and 200,000 years ago?
Who benefitted from these advancements in human progress?Innovation and progress began with the emergence of humanity in Africa’s Great Rift Valley as much as 2 million years ago. With the invention of fire somewhere between 2million and 1.7 million years ago would have come an awareness that the burning of certain plants induced shifted states of consciousness, and across time this connection would have been fully realized and refined. So the fact that the creation of the first fires in confined spaces coincides with the invention of the first multifaceted geometrically perfect hand axe is pretty important. It seems plausible that the accidental or purposeful burning of psychotropic plants on the earliest fires by Homo erectus might have caused them to fashion these hand axes, which appear for the first time close to Lake Turkana in what is today Kenya around 1.76million years ago.
In other words, the true inspiration for the creation of these so-called Acheulean hand axes could well have come from glimpsing similar geometrical forms during altered states of consciousness.
Prior to this age, in Africa as in other parts of the world, stone tools, forming part of what is known as the Oldowan industry (2.7 million to1.76 million years ago), were mostly made of large river-worn pebbles without any sustained form of design. Tools of this kind are incredibly crude in comparison to the more or less geometrically perfect Acheulean hand axe, which after its invention continued to be manufactured by Homo erectus down to around 200,000 years ago. Thus we can see that communication with perceived otherworldly intelligences might well have been influencing human thought and innovation since the beginning. If correct, then there seems no reason not to conclude that similar processes could have guided the hand of progress through to the present day, and, moreover, that civilization itself could owe something to this hypothesis.
How does all this link with Mount Gerizim, the original mountain of God in Israelite tradition? Just a short distance away from the Qesem Cave is a mountain that was extremely important to the development of the much later Israelite peoples who came to inhabit the land of Canaan, their so-called Promised Land, towards the end of the Early Bronze Age(3300-2000 BCE). Its name is Mount Gerizim, and it was considered the original dwelling place of God in the Hebrew Bible.
More significantly, according to the Samaritans who live on the mountain to this day and claim to be the true descendents of the original Israelites, God’s presence on Mount Gerizim would take the form of the Shekinah, a divine light often mentioned in Hebrew and Aramaic religious commentaries in connection with the Ark of the Covenant. It will therefore come as no surprise to find that the mountain, which towers above the nearby city of Nablus (ancient Shechem) in the Palestinian West Bank, has long been associated with the appearance of mysterious light phenomena. The area’s intense geology, similar to that predicted as far back as 1982 by the likes of earth mysteries researcher and writer Paul Devereux and his colleagues as conducive to the manifestation of plasma-based lights, makes Gerizim a very likely place where such phenomena will have appeared across an extended period of time.
On a visit to Mount Gerizim in 2019 I was informed by one of the Samaritans’ most senior priests that these lights are still seen on the mountain today. When asked what the Samaritans considered them to be I was told they are thought of as mal‘akh, Arabic for angels.
Thus what the outside world would call UFOs or UAPs (unidentified aerial phenomena) is viewed by this strict religious community as evidence of God’s heavenly messengers manifesting on the slopes of his earthly dwelling place. Can we dare suggest that the same strange lights interpreted as the manifestation of God by the Children of Israel were visible also to the Qesem people as much as 400,000 years ago?
Were they drawn to the lights as well? Did they have close encounters with them, and come to see them, like the earliest Israelites, as evidence for the presence of some kind of omnipotent and omnipresent intelligence, one perhaps associated with the spirit of the mountain? If so can this information help explain why the Qesem people came to invent shamanism, whilst at the same time becoming among the smartest individuals on the planet (well, in evolutionary terms at least)?
Did these distant ancestors of ours use ritual practices to make contact with the light intelligences, which perhaps responded to them in a manner similar to close proximity UFO sightings today?Such ideas might seem far fetched, although it should be noted that a particular type of Eocene age flint used in the production of stone tools at the Qesem Cave, as well as at the nearby open air site of Jaljulia, would appear to have been procured from the slopes of Mount Gerizim; this being despite the fact that much closer sources of good quality flint were available (which also were used, of course). Did the Lower Paleolithic peoples of these sites come to believe there was some special power in flint procured from the same mountain that strange pulsating lights would appear on a regular basis?
Did they see this flint as imbued with the spirit of the intelligence or intelligences thought to reside on the mountain? If so, then were these rocks, and the stone tools made from them, used to aid communication with these perceived intelligences? If they were then the chances are that members of the Qesem community will have attempted to continue to link with the perceived intelligences associated with the manifesting light phenomena through altered states of consciousness achieved during shamanic trance states.
These could have provided a temporary communion with the intelligences associated with the lights, which they might well have encountered in the same manner as witnesseses to UFOs today.
What is the connection with the Ark of the Covenant? Shekinah means the “presence” of God, although most often it is cited as evidence of the deity manifesting as a form of blinding light. It is this light that almost certainly came to be a sign of God’s presence on Mount Gerizim, and why the mountain came to be seen as his earthly dwelling place.
This same manifesting light was associated with the“devouring fire” that Moses encounters on the summit of Mount Sinai during the 40 years that the Israelites spend in the Wilderness of Sinai following the Exodus out of Egypt. It is whilst on Mount Sinai that Moses is not only given the Tablets of the Law, on which are inscribed the Ten Commandments, but he is also informed by God manifesting as a bright light how to construct a device that will become the deity’s temporary dwelling place until the Israelites reach the Promised Land.
That device, of course, is the Ark of the Covenant, and it was within this that the Tablets of the Law are placed, thereafter allowing God to manifest above the Ark as a pillar of fire by night and as a cloud by day.
Following Moses death the Israelites, now under the command of Joshua, cross the River Jordan and finally enter the Promised Land. The first place they settle after arriving in Canaan is the city of Shechem beneath the shadow of Mount Gerizim. Here they conduct an important ritual commonly referred to as the Ceremony of the Curses and Blessings. Six of the twelve tribe stood on Mount Gerizim pronouncing blessings on those that follow the divine law whilst the other six tribes stood on neighboring Mount Ebal pronouncing curses on those who ignore the law.
Center stage at on a stone altar at Shechem, located directly between the two mountains, was the Ark of the Covenant pouring out its radiance in the form of God’s Shekinah, the story being a familiar subject of portrayal for artists across the centuries. Obviously, the involvement of the Ark in this story raises many questions about what it represented, how it functioned, and what became of this powerful magical artefact, which was said to have vanished from its home in the holy of holies of the temple of Jerusalem sometime before the Babylonians sacked the city in 587 BCE. Its final fate and current whereabouts has fascinated biblical scholars and intrepid explorers for hundreds of years,a matter fully explored in the final chapter of Origins of the Gods.
UFOs? When you think about UFOs what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Is it spaceships and aliens? Contact with extraterrestrials? Military cover-ups, whistleblowers, and secret alien bases? Most obviously the answer is going to be yes, based on the sheer fact that ever since the first appearance of strange objects in our skies in the modern era the go-to explanation for their presence has always been to assume they are space vehicles piloted by biological entities arriving here from other star systems.
In addition to this we often describe UFOs as “flying,” “hovering,” “stationary” or “landing,” compounding the idea that they are space hardware. There is, however, considerable evidence that many true UFOs (although not all) are infact constructs of plasma created within heavily ionospheric environments, the location’s intense geology being responsible for producing the mass of free electrons necessary to create such environments.
Plasma is classified as the fourth state of matter after solids, liquids and gases; indeed, it was from plasma that atomic matter came into existence at the time of the Big Bang. Plasma can be created through the excitation of gas, which causes electrons to split away from their nuclei (a process known as ionization). Entering into an excited state the electrons knock into other atoms, forcing them to lose some of their own electrons. This starts a chain reaction where whole environments of freed up electrons exist within self-generated electromagnetic fields.
At the same time this is happening the excited electrons produce millions of tiny packets of light called photons, which act like a light bulb being switched on to reveal the presence of a shimmering object known to science as a plasmoid. Such constructs can remain visible for anything from a few microseconds to several minutes, sometimes evenlonger.
Mysterious lights and more structured objects are thus triggered into manifestation by the ionospheric environments produced in the main by geological factors such as the deformation of rock strata, whereby certain minerals including quartz and tourmaline are forces to release some of their electrons (a process known as piezoelectricity). These then break the surface, interact with static electrons already present in the local environment to produce electromagnetic fields. Such activity is usually associated with the movement of tectonic plates or rock strata in the vicinity of underground faulting. The manifestation of plasma constructs, which, in all honesty probably account for the vast majority of UFO sightings, are not only able to sustain an independent existence for some minutes, but when observed at close quarters can respond to human consciousness interaction, giving the impression that they are sentient in nature.
Plasmoids can be tiny, or they can be many meters across. Some are larger still. They can manifest individually or in clusters. In appearance they can be balls or ovals or light of different colors, or they can manifest as strange glowing fogs or as apparently solid structures, like classic UFOs. They can split in two, combine, split apart again, or they can vanish only to reappear once more. They can manifest during the day or at nighttime. Those who get too close to plasmoids, or plasma constructs as they might be termed can expect to experience electrostatic effects as well as electromagnetic interference, which will affect electrical equipment as well as vehicles.
Witnesses to such objects might well experience nausea, vertigo, and even transformative experiences akin to visions. All these effects are reported also in connection with close proximity UFO encounters. How exactly manifesting plasmoids sustain their existence remains a mystery to science. What we do know is that plasma makes up around 99 percent of the physical universe and is the key to understanding everything from nuclear fusion within stars, to neutron stars, black holes, white holes, the formation of lightning, solar flares, the northern lights, and even how your smart TV works!
How are these UFOs linked with the earth? UFOs as plasma constructs are integrally associated with the natural forces of the earth, which provide the right environment for their manifestation to take place. During the 1960s and 1970s such locations were known to ufologists, those who study UFOs, as window areas. Today those same places bear the name portals – the most famous of which is Skinwalker Ranch in Utah’s Uintah Basin, which even has its own TV show! I was fortunate to be able to visit Skinwalker Ranch during the writing of Origins of the Gods.
High strangeness paranormal activity including the manifestation of UFOs has been occurring in and around Skinwalker Ranch for at least 150 years. It will thus come as no surprise to learn that the ranch’s northern mesa, where much of the activity seems to center around, contains a geological fault that when put under pressure could well utilize the high quartz content of the local sandstone rock to create an ionospheric environment of the sort necessary for the manifestation of plasma.
Just like the Qesem Cave in Israel, Skinwalker Ranch has been the site of intenseritualistic activity across an extended period of time. The Uintah Basin in which it sits has long been seen as sacred land by the Ute and Navajo First Nations who live there. The term “skinwalker” is used to describe the supernatural form adopted by a Navajo “witch,” or shaman when they wish to travel in animal form during intense rituals often used to curse enemies.
Most often these skinwalkers take the form of supernatural wolves. According to Ute elders the ranch’s northern mesa is called the “path of the skinwalker” due to the regular appearance of supernatural phenomena there. Sightings continue to take place there today. They include the appearance of cryptids such as outsized wolves (wolves themselves are not native to the region) and lycaons, that is, tall, bipedal dog-men, both of which would be interpreted in terms of the presence of skinwalkers.
(Interestingly, the word for a “witch” in the Navajo language is the same as that used fora wolf). Skinwalker Ranch is typical of portal locations found throughout the world, all of which will be recognized by their intense geology and the manifestation of strange light phenomena across a prolonged period of time. Very often they will be associated with folklore that attaches them to some kind of supernatural creature seen to be responsible for creating the appearance of mysterious lights.
This might even be reflected in the place-name of the location. Such places will have been of special interest to ancient peoples who will have seen the manifestation of strange lights as evidence of the presence of otherworldly beings interpreted in terms of supernatural forces that had to be appeased by communities in order to benefit in some manner from the acknowledged presence of this phenomena, which may well have been seen as the result of a single. entity or force (similar beliefs surround the modern-day manifestation of such phenomena at portal locations including Skinwalker Ranch and its British counterpart, Bempton in North Yorkshire.
Investigators at both locations suspect the presence of a single entity (which in both cases is called the Host). Portal sites will very often have attracted human interest to such a degree that everything from stone circles and dolmens to medicine wheels, temples, chapels and churches will have been erected to mark such locations as special. Even today such places are often noted as places where mysterious lights and more structured objects are seen to manifest on a fairly regular basis.
Is this the best solution yet for the idea of Ancient Aliens intervening in human affairs? If otherworldly beings or intelligences do exist and have been influencing human innovation since our earliest forebears emerged in Africa’s Rift Valley in places like Kenya and Ethiopia as much as 2 million years ago then we have to consider what their existence might represent.
It seems improbable that they are flesh and blood extraterrestrial beings arriving on earth from other star systems. That said, it is a possibility cannot be ruled out. As early as 1963 American cosmologist, astronomer and NASA consultant Carl Sagan wrote a paper in which he concluded that the earth had played host to extraterrestrial visitations on countless occasions since the birth of humanity. He even advocated looking toward the literature of ancient Mesopotamia for clues regarding these visitations. Thus we can conclude that some objects that appear in our skies could be interstellarspace vehicles, although it would be very wrong to assume that the vast majority of them can be explained in this way.
But what about the rest of them—the plasma constructs? What possible intelligences might be associated with them? Physicists often refer to plasma simply as ionized gas, although this does it a great disservice since it is a highly unique state of existence that has been shown to display qualities suggesting that it can act in a sentient fashion as if it is alive, something often reported in association with UFOs. Just as significant is the fact that plasma would appear to be able to harbor multidimensional environments.
What this means is that instead of operating in three dimensions of space and one dimension of time, plasma environments might well utilize four dimensions of space and one of time (although time would likely flow differently in higher dimensional environments).
If so, then it means that plasmoids could act as points of access to higher dimensional space, which would in turn probably result in minor distortions in normal space-time. Some UFO abductions or missing time episodes might perhaps be the result of the percipients involved with such experiences entering into plasma environments. In doing so they are removed from the consequences of normal space-time and instead enter a four- or multiple dimensional environment, a kind of bubble universe, which is able to overlay our physical universe on a temporary basis.
Two-way interaction between the phenomenon and the human mind creates the impression that the person or persons involved have entered a realm that adheres to personal or collective expectations of what they genuinely believe is going on based on cultural and religious conditioning. Thus the environment inside the bubble universe might seem like entering an extraterrestrial vehicle, or entering the abode of the fairies (as was the case in medieval times), or, if the percipient is particularly religious, experiencing the delights of the kingdom of heaven. Such experiences inside these temporary realities will be quite “real,” to the percipient or percipients involved. Then, on exiting the bubble universe and reentering normal space-time hours, days, weeks, or in some rare historical cases from folklore, even years will have been found to have passed in the real world.
Thus plasma environments are not alive in themselves, they simply express the presence within them of what theoretical physicist David bohm referred to as a “proto-intelligence” that emerges into the plasma from some deeper level of existence.
Thus plasma can be seen to act as a conduit providing a step down process into normal space-time for intelligences normally existing in a higher dimensional state. The “deeper level of existence” spoken of by Bohm has been seen as a kind of non-local medium (in other words, one without a direct connection in normal space-time) that Bohm’s colleague and occasional co-author Basil Hiley referred to as the realm of pre-space.
The suspected intelligences associated with plasma environments we have come to term n-dimensional beings, with the n standing for the unspecified number of dimensions involved in this process. It could be four dimensions of space. It could be ten, 32, or a higher number still, we just don’t know; hence the term n-dimensional beings, or n-beings for short.
These then become the best candidates for the light intelligences associated with manifesting UFOs, and perhaps even for the original “ancient aliens”responsible for the subtle development of human kind across the past 2 million years ago.
Was Erich von Däniken right to say God was an astronaut? Having highlighted the advanced nature of ancient monuments in various different parts of the world Swiss writer-researcher Erich von Däniken, in his bestselling book Chariots of the Gods first published in 1968, asked the question of whether ancient astronauts could have helped inspire human civilization.
The succinct manner in which he stimulated this far-reaching idea in modern pop culture is still having an impact today with TV shows such as Ancient Aliens. Much earlier, however, Carl Sagan as far back as1963, within his paper on the likelihood of alien visitations in the past, seemed to be hinting at a similar realization, even though his long career as a consultant and spokesman for NASA forced him to curtail any open discussion on the topic (this information being conveyed to me by a personal friend of his).
So we should never not consider the possibility that some ancient aliens were indeed interstellar visitors able to reach the earth in some unfathomable manner. Having said this, it seems more likely that any kind of direct outside intervention inhuman affairs from a non-terrestrial intelligence will have come from highly evolved beings existing beyond normal space-time—beings that are able to interact with the human mind using processes involving quantum entanglement. Long thought only to affect the microcosmic world, quantum entanglement—whereby whole systems of entangled particles are able to communicate with each other instantaneously, across any distance, using a non-local medium—has recently been shown to have an impact on the macrocosmic world in which we live.
This is very important indeed since entanglement now becomes the most likely key to unlocking everything from telepathy to mind over matter and even precognition. It might also be the means by which transdimensional intelligences are able to inhabit plasma environments, and through them manipulate physical reality. Almost certainly the non-local medium through which entanglement works is the same realm imagined by David Bohm as the source of his proto-intelligence, which he referred to as the Implicate Order and his colleague Basil Hiley called the pre-space. If this is the case, then the proto-intelligence Bohm’s alluded to is one and the same as the n-dimensional beings thought to be behind the sentience of manifestingUFOs. The fact that Erich von Däniken has written the foreword to Origins of the Gods is telling indeed.
Von Däniken, who is today in his mid eighties, may well be acknowledging tha this “Was God an astronaut” theory should perhaps be updated for the twenty-first century market. The concept of UFOs as sentient beings of a transdimensional nature that have been influencing human development since the beginning is unquestionably the next stage in understanding deep ontological questions such as who we are as a species and how we came to be where we are today.
Have we found the true Ancient Aliens? So, yes, I think we really have found the true ancient aliens, although instead of them arriving here simply from another planet or star system, more likely they have co-existed with us since the beginning, their real home being a higher dimensional realm existing outside of the physical universe that even has its own name—the bulk. It is a term used in a unifying form of string theory known as M-theory (first proposed by American mathematical and theoretical physicist Edward Witten at a string theory conference at the University of Southern California in 1995). It predicts that although the physical universe operates using three dimensions of space (made up of length, width and height) and one dimension of time, this is merely the manifestation of a much greater, and indeed infinite, four-dimensional realm of space referred to as the bulk, which additionally harbors sixextra dimensions.
These, with the addition of a time dimension, make eleven in total. What impact the extra six dimensions have on the bulk or on physical reality remains unclear, although one possibility is that they might relate to the nature of consciousness, especially in the knowledge that the Blue Brain Project of Switzerland has determined that the human brain is “full of multi-dimensional geometrical structures operating in as many as 11 dimensions.”
1So in many ways our brains seem hard wired to interact with multidimensional environments if and when they become available to us (a bit like smartphone handsets being made 5G ready in anticipation of the introduction of 5G phone networks). M-theory predicts that universes (in plural) come into existence through a type of bleeding process into physical reality involving the actions of white holes, which are the equal and opposite to black holes.
White holes are thought to emit plasma that quickly transforms into atomic matter. The expansion of a physical universe can therefore be compared to a balloon in a vacuum slowly being inflated with gas coming in from somewhere lying outside normal space-time. M-theorists refer to these universes as branes or braneworlds. Any number of these branes can exist, with our own universe being just one example. Some branes could be so close to ours that the two actually touch, while other branes might well overlap with their neighbors. Whether large or small, each braneworld is its own self-contained universe with its own laws of physics. Do n-dimensional beings therefore come to us from the bulk? If the bulk is indeed the exclusive domain of n-beings, then can we begin now to understand how they are able to use plasma environments of four-dimensional space as gateways or portals to step down into normal space-time?
Plus if the bulk is to be seen as synonymous with not only the non-local medium through which entanglement is able to take place instantaneously, but also David Bohm’s concept of the Implicate Order and Basil Hiley’s realm of pre-space, then it becomes logical to assume that n-beings would use entanglement as a means of communicating with and arguably even manipulating life on earth.
Quite clearly, this is a fascinating, albeit slightly disturbing realization, and yet it is one that seems to be emerging right now from the scientific evidence available. What is more, it is helping to better understand the nature of UFOs, the intelligences surrounding them and how they have been able to impact human kind since the first appearance of shamanism in Israel’s Qesem Cave as much as 400,000 years ago.
